Having BA (Honors) with Political Science & Special Economics, MA in Sociology and LLB degrees and being the former Mayor of Mumbai, Adv. Prabhavalakar has many accolades to her name. She is involved in many social activities like being a legal advice and help to senior citizens under IPOP, organizing medical camps and awareness workshops under the NISD/MSJE, GOI. She has been the principal advisor to the Centre for Social Change, Mumbai since 2014 and Chief Functionary to CSSC – RRTC under GOI since 2016.
Dr Kumar, received her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from Delhi University, in 2006 and his Master of Occupational Therapy from the Hamdard University in 2008 and a PhD in Geriatric Mental Health from King George’s Medical University, Lucknow in 2017. He has over 12 years of clinical and research experience, primary in geriatric population from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He has presented his research work related to geriatrics in more than 15 countries. He also received a senior research fellowship from ICMR in 2011, grants from DST, CSIR and some other grant awards from Swedish Association of Occupational Therapist, Sweden; World Federation of Occupational Therapist, Australia. Dr Kumar published more than 15 papers in national and international journal and also the author for 5 books. He also designed a geriatric rehabilitation content for www.oldagesolutions.org a Government of India funded web portal for the welfare of the ageing population. In 2015, he received a prestigious Government of Ireland International Scholarship for post-doc advanced research programme in ageing science. Then after he completed his 2 years advanced research-based master programme in Medical Gerontology from Trinity College Dublin in 2017. Presently, he is working as an Assistant Professor in Amity Institute of Occupational Therapy, Amity University, Noida.
Dr. Sriniwas is the one of 1st qualified Geriatrician of Mumbai. After having completed his postgraduation in Geriatric Medicine from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, the premier medical institute in India, he returned to Mumbai to start the 1st dedicated Geriatric services for the senior citizens of the city. He is also selected as a Commonwealth Scholar from India for pursuing his Masters in Dementia studies from UK.
He is invited as a resource person to provide training on geriatric care by Regional Resource Training Centre in Mumbai under Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. He has also been invited as a specialist consultant by World Health Organization (WHO) to provide training to primary care doctors in geriatric care. Dr. Sriniwas is keenly involved in promoting healthy and active ageing through community awareness talks, lectures, CME’s and various health articles pertaining to elderly care. He is a visiting consultant geriatrician in many renowned hospitals in Mumbai and has his private clinic in Thane.
Dr Venugopalan G, has done his MBBS from Madurai medical college and MD in Geriatric medicine from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He had worked as Senior Resident in AIIMS for 3 years and short stint as consultant in Apollo hospitals. He is currently working as Assistant professor of Geriatric Medicine in JIPMER, Puducherry.
He has about a dozen publications and his presentations were awarded in various conferences. He is a member of Indian Academy of Geriatrics and Associate editor of Journal of Indian Academy of Geriatrics. He has expertise in treating variety of old age issues with special interest on geriatric syndromes and vaccination. He has passion for teaching students and public education.
Dr. Swapnil Jathar specializes in Geriatric Medicine with 8 years’ experience in his field. Currently working in NHS UK as Consultant Elderly Medicine. His role includes managing inpatient geriatric care on 30 bedded geriatric ward, Acute Frailty Services and Acute /General Medicine Consultant on call and conducting geriatric clinic for comprehensive geriatric assessment.
Areas of interest include Falls, Frailty, Acute Geriatrics and Surgical Liaison.
His previous roles included Senior Registrar at AIIMS, Assistant Professor at Regional Geriatric Centre Mumbai and Registrar Acute and Elderly Care at London Hospital.
His other interests include Football, Music, Movies, Nature, Documentaries, Travel and World History.
Dr Akash has done his post-graduation in Geriatric medicine from AIIMS ,New Delhi and also done 3 years of Senior residency after that. He has also completed MRCP (U.K) from university of London. He is a member of society of Indian Geriatric society. He has been instrumental in setting up of Fall clinic, Memory clinic and Orthogeriatric clinic at Department of Geriatric medicine , AIIMS. Currently he is working as consultant in Health world hospitals in Durgapur,West Bengal.
He, in collaboration with Cleaveland clinic had also developed an informative medicine app using Artificial intelligence. Dr Akash has been instrumental in organizing various national and international conference, has various publication in national and international journals and books. He has special academic interest in geriatric syndromes. Also, he has taken active participation in many community services in various parts of India.
Professor AB Dey is Former Head of the Department of Geriatric Medicine in AIIMS, New Delhi, which he established in 2012.
Dr Dey has been working for over 25 years to establish old age care as a distinct specialty of medicine in India. An avid clinical researcher Prof Dey has carried out several funded and non funded research projects and published extensively on various aspects of old age health and health care. He is currently carrying out a longitudinal cognitive ageing study involving respondents of Longitudinal Ageing Study of India, to establish the epidemiology of dementia in India.
Dr Dey has been associated with DST’s mission to promote gero-technology as a distinct interest area in Science and Technology in the country.
Dr AB Dey has been assisting the World Health Organization in developing training protocols and strategy for development of old age care in India and countries in South East Asia, Eastern Mediterranean and Western Pacific Region. He is involved in implementation of Integrated Care of Older People (ICOPE) of World Health Organization in Indian primary health care system.
Dr. Santosh is a renowned physician in Thane and Mumbai. He completed his MBBS from Seth G.S Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai and M. D. in Internal Medicine from Nair Hospital, where he was the university topper and awarded Gold medal for the same.
He has been in clinical practice for more than a decade and has a vast experience in treating patients and successfully managing critical cases. At the same time, he is actively involved in academics and training of medical students, organizing various medical conferences and being an invited speaker at various events.
